Welcome to the homepage of the Asian and Pacific Islander Caucus at Dartmouth College.

Mission Statement

The Asian and Pacific Islander Caucus (hereinafter, APIC) is a group for all Dartmouth employees (including faculty, staff, and fellows) and their families committed to fostering a supportive and affirming network for the Asian and Pacific Islander (hereinafter, API) community at Dartmouth College. The regions included in Asia and the Pacific are broadly and loosely defined. They include all of Asia (Western Asia [the Middle East], Central Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, East Asia), Oceania, and islands in the Pacific Ocean. APIC is recognized by the Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity (IDE) at Dartmouth College.

The goals of APIC are:

  • to serve as an advocacy group in facilitating an inclusive climate for the API community,
  • to serve as a support resource to the API community,
  • to promote the advancement and success of API employees, and
  • to advocate for the recruitment and retention of API employees.

In order to accomplish these goals, APIC has the following objectives:

  • acknowledges API staff and faculty contributions to Dartmouth College and to the wider community;
  • actively seeks out opportunities to collaborate with campus and community partners, such as other Employee Resource Networks (ERNs) and the Office of Pluralism and Leadership (OPAL);
  • organizes educational and social programs and events;
  • facilitates connections among APIC members with students in the API community; and
  • advocates for and strives to increase awareness in the Dartmouth and Upper Valley communities regarding API issues, cultures, achievements, and histories.
