WHEN:  Tuesday, October 8, 2013, Noon – 1:30pm (lunch provided)
WHERE:  DCAL, 102 Baker Library

Authorea is an innovative – and free! –  new collaborative authoring tool for scientists.  Join Authorea co-founder Alberto Pepe, postdoctoral researcher at Harvard University and Fellow of the Berkman Center for Internet & Society,  for a lively presentation and discussion of how Authorea supports the ways scientists collaborate in writing and publishing.  He’ll address the relevance of Authorea to the growing open science movement, and share insights into the use of the tool.  Bring your questions from your current experiences in writing research papers and scientific articles.

Authorea uses a robust source control system in the backend (git) and an engine to understand LaTeX, Markdown, and most web formats, lets you write articles collaboratively online and renders them in HTML5, – right inside your browser.    More about Authorea.
