Emergency Medical Technician Courses:

 

Dartmouth EMS will be sponsoring two Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) courses during the 2016-2017 academic year. One will be a condensed W-EMT course occurring during winterim (late November to mid-December). The second EMT course will take place during the winter and spring terms.

Registration for both EMT courses is now open!

Registration is open to anyone, including students, faculty, staff, and community members.

The basic information about the first course is as follows. Much more detailed information is included on the information sheet (TKS Wilderness EMT Course Info Sheet) and the poster (TKS WEMT Poster).

Course #1: Winterim Wilderness-EMT course – This class is now in session. Email Julie Lee (Jiyun.J.Lee.19@dartmouth.edu) if you would like to take a similar class next year.
Taught by: The Kane Schools of Wild and Rescue Medicine
Location: Dartmouth College campus
Dates: 11/28/16 to 12/17/16
Class Times: 6 days per week from about 8am-6:30pm (Sundays off) with some evening classes as well. Ride-alongs will be offered during the evenings and on Sundays.
Certifications upon successful completion of course and exams: Wilderness EMT, EMT from National Registry of EMTs and CPR for the Healthcare Provider.
Cost: $1,845 (deposit of $1,000) with multiple payment options.
Other: No food included in cost of course. Winterim housing is available to Dartmouth students who are enrolled in classes during 16F and/or 17W. To learn more about interim housing go to: http://www.dartmouth.edu/~orl/housing/separate/interim.html Parking is available.

If you know you want to and can take the course, we highly encourage you to register ASAP to make sure you get a spot and take advantage of the early registration discount (details on attached info sheet).

Please note that there are cancellation fees.You will get your deposit back minus:
$300 if you withdraw before 9/15
$500 if you withdraw between 9/15 and 10/28
$700 if you withdraw after 10/28

Winter-Spring EMT Course:

Course #2: Winter-Spring EMT course
Taught by: Great Brook Academy
Location: Dartmouth College campus
Dates: Online and in-person classes. First in-person class on 1/7/17 and last in-person class on 4/22/17. In-person classes are most Saturdays from 9am-5pm. Click on the schedule below for more detailed information.

Certifications upon successful completion of course and exams: EMT from National Registry of EMTs and CPR for the Healthcare Provider.
Cost: Max of $1,700 (deposit of $250) with discount options. No food or housing included in cost of course. Contact chris.rousseau@thegbco.com regarding cancellation fees.
