Alejandra in Venice

Alejandra in Venice

My name is Nerina and I had the pleasure of hearing Alejandra’s story. Alejandra is a great friend of my mother’s and I have had the opportunity to get to know her throughout my high school and college years.  We have spent time fishing and cooking empanadas together.

One of the first things that struck me about Alejandra was her incredible energy.  She has a warm and dynamic personality.  She has inspired me with her love for others and her tremendous concern for the well-being of animals.

Finally, I have always admired her many accomplishments and passion to better herself: at work and at home.  Alejandra has become an expert at Crisis management and is the first Latina to tap into this field with tremendous success. She has been the recipient of several awards for her excellence at work, being recognized as one of the most remarkable Latina entrepreneur by the Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White.

Because I am here in Hanover and Alejandra is back in Chicago, we conducted the interview by phone on May 1, 2013.  The interview was focused on Alejandra’s childhood, experience leaving Argentina, reception in the United States, career path/goals, family, and love for animals.  I decided to keep the Oral History in Alejandra’s words to better capture her passion, humor, candor, and energy.  This website is an attempt to represent Alejandra’s rich and inspiring story!
