Hurricane Irene Response

On August 31, 2011 by Grad Forum

This past weekend, the rainwaters of Hurricane Irene flooded many communities in the Upper Valley. In an effort to help those affected by the hurricane, The William Jewett Tucker Foundation is coordinating a community assistance program. In addition to monetary donations, the Tucker Foundation is collecting non-perishable foods, toiletries, and clothing. To donate, please visit the Tucker Foundation’s website.

  • To help with the relief effort, the Graduate Student Council (GSC) is running a donation drive. Donation boxes are being set up around campus by the GSC department representatives, and the donation center at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) is outside the entrance to Borwell, Level 5.

Thank you Marcella Lucas and Ali Titiz for setting up the DHMC donation box!

  • The MALS Department has also set up a donation box in the mail room next to the MALS office in Wentworth. We’ll be collecting donations through tomorrow afternoon at 4pm.

  • Yesterday, the GSC set up a donation box in Baker Berry: from the green, enter the library through the main doors, and the collection box is just to the right of the “Baker Information Desk.”
