Homecoming at Dartmouth
As the Big Green football team takes on the Columbia Lions this upcoming Saturday, the Dartmouth Graduate Studies Office and the Graduate Student Council have plenty of activities planned to help celebrate Dartmouth Homecoming 2011.
Friday, October 21st
5:00 pm – Pre-Parade Gathering for Arts and Sciences Students and Alumni
On Friday, October 21st, the Graduate Student Council will sponsor a ‘Dartmouth Night Pre-Parade Gathering’ at North Park Graduate Housing (14 North Park Street). Starting at 5:00pm, there will be free hot chocolate, coffee, and assorted fall treats to enjoy before Dartmouth Night.
At 7:00 pm, attendees will walk to Crosby Street, and start lining up for the parade behind cone #18 (subject to change).
One of Dartmouth’s oldest and most beloved traditions, the Dartmouth Night Bonfire will be preceded by a Homecoming parade that will go throughout downtown Hanover, ultimately ending on the Green for the Bonfire. The ‘Dartmouth Night Pre-Parade Gathering’ is open to all current graduate students, alumni, and their families.
7:30 pm – Dartmouth Parade begins
Arts and Sciences students and alumni will march in the Dartmouth Parade behind the Dartmouth Graduate Programs banner. Dress in green, and bring an umbrella.
8:00 pm – Dartmouth Night Ceremonies
Parade ends, and the Dartmouth Night Ceremonies begin on the lawn in front of Dartmouth Hall. The Bonfire will be lit at 8:30 pm on the Green.
Saturday, October 22nd
12:00 pm – North Park Tailgating Party
Arts and Sciences alumni and students are invited to socialize at North Park before the football game. Weather permitting, the celebration will be on the lawn outside of 24 North Park Street (rain location is the Laundry room at 14 North Park Street).
1:30 pm – Dartmouth v. Columbia at Memorial Field
Students get into all games for free with a current Dartmouth I.D. Alumni and guests can purchase tickets here.
