Highlights from September GSC Meeting
A major highlight of the September Graduate Student Council (GSC) meeting was the announcement of the extension of the Advance Transit bus route. The bus will service areas such as Lebanon and White River Junction in the late evening so that graduate students and others will have more options for traveling. There will be a nine-month trial period of the extended route.
Graduate students are continuing to work on plans for OneDartmouth, which seeks to provide a safe space for conversation between graduate and undergraduate students on campus. If you would like more information about OneDartmouth, please contact Meg Menon.
Marie Onakomaiya is looking for participants interested in getting involved in service events in the area and being on a new service committee that she is organizing. For more information about this committee, contact Onakomaiya or read the Graduate Forum article on the new service chair position.
Mark your calendars for these upcoming events!
- First Year Dinner (September 15, 5:30pm Rockefeller Center)
- Fall Semi Formal (September 21, 8pm Alumni Hall)
- Workshops on professional development, see the Graduate Studies website
- The Employer Fair September 24 and 25, 12pm-4pm Hopkins Center, Alumni Hall
As we welcome the incoming graduate students to campus, the GSC would like to invite all who are interested to look into becoming a representative for their department. Graduate students are invited to sit in on the monthly meetings, held the first Tuesday of the month at 5:30pm in the Life Sciences Center, room 200 (unless otherwise publicized).
