Interested in learning more about the many possibilities of online tools to enhance teaching and learning? You’ll get a quick, clear, jargon-free overview of a variety of Web 2.0 tools and techniques, why it is relevant to today’s students, as well as a quick survey of stimulating ways to integrate a few tools into your course. We’ll have demos, showcase projects, hands-on activities, and brainstorm-style discussions with colleagues.

  1. Poll Everywhere – Quick and easy polling for immediate feedback. Can be used with clickers or mobile devices for up to 40 responses with the free account. [User Guide]
  2. Socrative – Another polling software for immediate feedback, including free text entries. For use with mobile devices for up to 50 users with the free account. [Video Tutorial] [User Guide]
  3. Prezi – Dynamic, multi-faceted presentations that incorporate images, PowerPoint slides, Youtube videos with an easy to use interface. Make sure to sign up for the educational license, which is free and allows for private or hidden prezis.  [Video Tutorial] [User Guide]
  4. Infogr.am – Easy to use interactive infograph creator that allows you to upload your own spreadsheet. [Video Tutorial]
  5. Voicethread – Combine various media that you can record into and comment on. [Guide]
  6. EdCanvas – The one place to organize, present and share knowledge. [Tutorial]
  7. Padlet – Blank wall to use for collaborative brainstorming and digital storytelling. [User Guide]
