Jane Lipson

200_jegl_2013Jane Lipson is the Albert W. Smith Professor Chemistry at Dartmouth College, having joined the faculty years ago after spending her first year as an academic at the University of Guelph, in Ontario, Canada.  She earned all of her degrees from the University of Toronto, and then undertook her first move to Dartmouth in order to work as a NATO Fellow with Walter Stockmayer.  Among her honours include becoming a Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS), and being awarded the Arthur K. Doolittle Prize, of the American Chemical Society. She has served of the Chair of the Polymer Physics Division of the APS, became the first woman to Chair the Polymer Physics Gordon Conference and, between 2008-2017 served as an Associate Editor of Macromolecules. In 2017-2018 Lipson enjoyed a stimulating year as a Radcliffe Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard.
