Saemi Han is a ’18 from Seoul, South Korea pursuing a degree in Biological Sciences and Anthropology. She has participated in MAV in the fall of 2014 as a member and now serves on the executive board as A&P co-director. MAV leaders apsire to create and maintain an atmosphere of self-care and positive reinforcement. In line with that core priniciple, Saemi celebrates her ability to be compassionate and empathetic. She feels inspired by the organization’s focus on helping foster conversations around sexual violence and healthy relationships on campus and encouraging organizations to think of ways to make their space more welcoming and safe for everyone. Saemi also believes that serving as a MAV executive not only means getting the logistics in place but really getting to know members on a personal basis and really making MAV a community that cares for one another. After leaving Dartmouth, she hopes to see MAV doing more workshops and facilitations outside of the greek system. She does not have a favorite quote but she thinks it is important for her to treat herself with more kindness and encourages others to do the same for themselves.
