Department of Film & Media Studies

From their site: “The Department of Film & Media Studies at Dartmouth College offers a wide range of courses in the theory, history, and criticism of film, television, and new media as well as a limited number of courses in screenwriting and film, video, animation, and gaming production. The major provides a common grounding for all students in the theory, history, and criticism of film, television and new media, while at the same time it asks that students take at least one course with a production component.”

Dartmouth’s Department of Film & Media Studies houses the Media Ecology Project in the new Black Family Visual Arts Center in Hanover. Professor Mark Williams heads the project and has been working to integrate tools like Mediathread into his courses.
