The Dartmouth Ski Team’s annual Moosilauke Time Trial will be held on Saturday, October 19th. Starting at the Ravine Lodge, both the cross country and alpine teams will travel 3.2 miles and 2250 feet up the Gorge Brook Trail. Friends and alumni are welcome to join in too. Start time is 10am.

Two years ago, the race was canceled due to a freakish late October snowstorm that dumped 6 inches in downtown Hanover.  Last year, a cold rain was falling at the bottom, the middle section of the trail was frozen mud, and the top was covered in ice – making conditions unforgiving the whole way up. This year, the weather forecast looks promising and the trail should be in good shape after a dry fall. Rumor even has it that Kris Freeman will be back to take aim at his 2010 course record of 35:16. Check out the historical record for all past results.  Hope to see you there!

2013 Dartmouth Ski Sale and Swap

2013-SkiSwapPosterPlease join us on October 25-26 in the Collis Center for the 2013 Dartmouth Ski Sale and Swap. We have moved the event away from Homecoming weekend this year, so it will take place closer to the start of ski season.

Consignment will be held on Friday October 25th from 4-7pm in Collis Room 101. The new year brings new opportunity: empty your garage and basement to make room for some new gear! A small portion of each sale will go to benefit the Dartmouth Ski Team and you get to keep the rest. Please bring only recently used equipment that is still in decent shape; straight skis and rear-entry boots will not be accepted!

The Ski Sale will take place on Saturday October 26th from 10am-4pm in Collis Common Ground. Come early to grab the best stuff! In addition to the consigned gear, five vendors will be on hand with new items for sale. Everything from nordic and alpine skis and boots to helmets, goggles, and a range of soft goods will be available. This is a great chance to get some new equipment and clothing for the winter at a reasonable cost, and to support the Dartmouth Ski Team in the process. We look forward to seeing you there!
