The Dartmouth Ski Team will send three student-athletes to compete in the 26th World University Games across Italy from December 11-21, 2013. Maisie Ide ‘16 from the Women’s Alpine Team will be representing the United States, while Mathieu Bertrand ‘14 and Dylan Fisher McCarney ‘15 from the Men’s Alpine Team will be representing Canada.
Originally planned for last season in Slovenia, the Winter Games were moved to the beginning of this season in Italy. Events will take place across a 75 mile radius in the Trentino region of northern Italy, with Alpine events in Pozza di Fassa and Passo San Pelligrino in the heart of the famous Dolomite mountain range.
The Dartmouth skiers will be focusing on the Giant Slalom and Slalom events. The Men’s GS will be on December 17 followed by the Women’s GS on December 18, the Men’s SL on December 19, and finishing with the Women’s SL on December 20.
