Rural Health Equity ECHO: Tackling the Social Drivers of Health

TO REGISTER

This ECHO will explore challenges to health equity in rural areas and how, working together, communities and health systems can shape social drivers of health to achieve better health outcomes for all. After a brief didactic examining a specific challenge, case examples of innovative solutions will be presented, followed by interactive discussion to explore implementation and brainstorm alternative approaches.  After attending, participants will be able to:

• Explain rural health equity and the complex issues that come together to produce unfair health outcomes in northern New England (NNE).
• Apply key equity principles in working with others to overcome barriers to health equity in NNE.
• Engage in actions that promote greater health equity in NNE.

Beyond the Stigma: Interpersonal Violence Assistance Program Virtual Summit

Intimate partner violence (IPV) and sexual assault are serious issues that affect individuals, families, and communities worldwide. While society has made progress in acknowledging and addressing these problems, there is still a significant stigma surrounding them. This stigma can prevent survivors from seeking help, perpetuate victim-blaming attitudes, and hinder the progress of prevention and intervention efforts.

This one-day virtual conference is intended for community and VA providers to develop and enhance skills related to IPV, sexual assault, and human trafficking best practices to prevent, screen, intervene and provide on-going care for those impacted by these experiences and to assist them in moving beyond the stigma.
