Newsletter 2023.7

Hello NH AHEC Scholars,

As we pay respect to different indigenous cultures on Indigenous Peoples Day, I share the proclamation made by President Biden on October 8, 2021. I hope you have a moment to read it and will take the time to reflect on the importance of this day in honor and celebration of cultures different from our own.

Beyond the Stigma: Interpersonal Violence Assistance Program Virtual Summit

October 26, 2023 (10:00-6:30 EST)

REGISTER

Intimate partner violence (IPV) and sexual assault are serious issues that affect individuals, families, and communities worldwide. While society has made progress in acknowledging and addressing these problems, there is still a significant stigma surrounding them. This stigma can prevent survivors from seeking help, perpetuate victim-blaming attitudes, and hinder the progress of prevention and intervention efforts.

This one-day virtual conference is intended for community and VA providers to develop and enhance skills related to IPV, sexual assault, and human trafficking best practices to prevent, screen, intervene and provide on-going care for those impacted by these experiences and to assist them in moving beyond the stigma.
