Jummah

See below for three Jummah options in the Upper Valley.

About Jummah: On the day of Jummah (Friday), Muslims gather to pray together after midday. This special, congregational prayer is preceded by a khutbah (sermon) delivered by an imam. Jummah prayer is obligatory for all men except those in extenuating circumstances. Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran: “O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu’ah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew.” (Quran, 62:9). Muslims also tend to give charity to the needy after the prayer.
