AAPM/CAMPEP Information

AAPM: American Association of Physicists in Medicine. Description from their website, “AAPM is a scientific and professional organization, founded in 1958, composed of more than 8000 scientists whose clinical practice is dedicated to ensuring accuracy, safety and quality in the use of radiation in medical procedures such as medical imaging and radiation therapy.” AAPM requires an annual fee to access most resources, however a student membership is very affordable, and available to students in the program. It is about 10% of the cost of a professional membership. Task group documentation developed by AAPM is very influential in regulatory decisions.

CAMPEP: Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs. This regulatory agency develops guidelines for all educational and residency programs in Medical Physics.
