In order to become an ABR-certified medical physicist, one must complete a CAMPEP-accredited residency program. The applications can be unique to each program, but most use the Medical Physics Residency Application Program (MPRAP). Following the application cycle, there is a national match in which programs/candidates rank their top choices in applicants/programs, and then each party is notified of the outcome on match day.
