Asian-Americans are well-represented in medicine, yet relatively few hold any position of leadership. This phenomenon, referred to by some as the ‘Bamboo Ceiling,’ is infrequently addressed yet remains an important source of disparity in the medical field.Our visions for the Asia Pacific Medical Society (APMS) are:

• To promote leadership among Asian-American medical students as they continue in their education and into their respective fields
• To foster a stronger community among Asian-American medical students, alumni, and faculty at the Medical School and DHMC
• To provide mentorship opportunities for current Geisel students
