In Spring 2017 we continued our AstroConnect program, now funded by the National Science Foundation as part of the CAREER program. We partnered with two schools:
- Goffstown High School, Goffstown, NH (faculty: Mike Veilleux)
- Newfound Regional High School, Bristol, NH (faculty: Charles Therriault)
Our guest astronomers were:
- Julie Comerford (Univ. of Colorado): Black holes in galaxy mergers
- Peter Maksym (Harvard-Smithsonian CfA): Black holes destroying stars
- Clark Johnson (Wisconsin): Astrobiology and the origin of life
Each classroom participated in multiple with guest astronomers, with questions prepared by the students in advance based on the articles.
