ICU StoryWeb

With funding from the National Palliative Care Research Center, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, the NIH-funded University of Pittsburgh Clinical and Translational Science Institute, and individual charitable donations, Dr. Barnato has launched a website devoted to sharing stories about the experience of making life support decisions in the ICU. Visit ICUStoryWeb.org to listen to stories or share your own story.

The Hopewell Hospitalist Game

In collaboration with Schell Games and the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Barnato has created an NIH-funded video game called Hopewell Hospitalist. Available on the App Store, Hopewell Hospitalist is a theory-based adventure game designed to increase physician engagement in an advance care planning (ACP) conversation with a patient over the age of 65. The game challenges players with realistic medical case simulations designed to improve critical decision making and risk recognition. Learn more at https://sites.dartmouth.edu/hopewell-hospitalist/.
