The Behrman lab will be joining the Department of Biological Sciences at Dartmouth College in July 2024.
We are interested in how organisms evolve to integrate sensory stimuli—from one another or from their physical surroundings—to produce different behaviors.
We use Drosophila to integrate evolutionary genomics and neuroscience to elucidate the intertwined questions of behavior evolution:
the genetic and neural mechanisms of how behavior evolves
and
how behavior affects evolution
