TRAINING

DBSO hosts team training sessions every Monday at 7 P.M. down in 8-Ball Hall, where students can learn to improve their game under the guidance of experienced students. Whether you’re an eager beginner or a competitive amateur, DBSO welcomes all skill levels to participate in practice.

In fact, many of the DBSO coaches arrived at Dartmouth with little to no billiards experience, so you are in the right company to develop your game. Within our training program, we focus on establishing the foundations of your game such as establishing line of vision, ingraining proper stroke technique, and developing proper stroke form. Through consistent, dedicated training, we believe that mastery of these fundamental skills facilitate progression of billiards and understanding of more complex concepts such as positional play. Finally, we also advocate for healthy competition to push players’ ability beyond their limits. As such, we encourage students to play in 8-Ball Hall as frequently as possible. And If you’re lucky, maybe you can catch one of the coaches there…
