New Director of Dartmouth Biomedical Libraries

Laura Cousineau will become the Director of the Biomedical Libraries in the Dartmouth College Library, effective January 16, 2012. Prior to coming to Dartmouth, Laura was the Assistant Director for Program Development and Resource Integration, at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Laura concurrently was an Associate Professor in the College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, where she was the Co-Director of the Residency Evidenced-Based Medicine Program, and Associate Professor in the College of Nursing, both at MUSC. Early in her career, Laura held a series of increasingly responsible positions in the Duke University Libraries, culminating as the Head of the Lilly Library.

Laura holds an undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University in business management, the masters of library science from North Carolina Central University, and the Diplôme Supérieur de la Langue Franҫaise from the Sorbonne. Laura was a National Library of Medicine/Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries Leadership Fellow in 2008-09 and was awarded the Academic Medical Librarian of the Year in 2008 by the Southern Chapter of the Medical Libraries Association.
