Shiva Sathyanarayana, PhD
Clinical Research LiaisonShiva Sathyanarayana is currently working as a Clinical Research Associate – Molecular Diagnostics at Center for Clinical Genomics and Advanced Technology, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Prior, he did postdoctoral research with the mentorship of Prof. Giovanni Bosco, Dr. Bryan Luikart, and Dr. Jennifer Hong in the Department of Molecular and Systems Biology at Geisel school of medicine at Dartmouth. His postdoc research mainly focused on studying genetic interactions of PTEN and FMR1 involving neurodevelopment disorders and how the loss of PTEN accelerates the peripheral nervous system and its regeneration using AAV mediated approach in a sciatic nerve-injured mouse model. He also has five years of industry experience working as a Technical/Applications specialist and Product Manager in the bio-instrumentation field. Shiva received his MSc., and Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of Mysore, India, where his research mainly focused on elucidating genetic basis of the human Y chromosome AZFc partial deletions and male infertility.

A Message from the Founders of DBC
As PhD students in the Molecular and Cell Biology Program at Dartmouth and interested in future careers in biotechnology, Rachel, Nick and Nikhil recognized that more exposure and training in biotech for graduate students at Dartmouth would greatly enhance their educational experience and prepare them for competitive careers. Shortly after, the Dartmouth Biotech Club was launched.
"Thanks to everyone who believed in us, all who were patient with us during our early, unorganized state and all those who recognized the potential and assisted us in making the Dartmouth Biotech Club a success! Special thanks to Claire Godbersen-Palmer who was our first believer and worked hard to launch the club while defending her thesis"
–Nikhil, Nick & Rachel
