The Brown Lab is comprised of an elite team of researchers and managers dedicated to advancing translational science through innovative healthcare applications. To learn more about each team member, click below.
Jeremiah Brown, Ph.D, MS
Dr. Jeremiah Brown is a tenured professor of Epidemiology, Biomedical Data Science, and Health Policy and Clinical Practice at The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. Dr. Brown is the former Chair of the Science of Implementation in Health and Healthcare (SIHH) NIH Study Section and founding Director of the Dartmouth Center for Implementation Science. He has received multiple R01s from NHLBI, NIDDK, and NIAID to develop and implement interventions of evidence-based interventions for infections, kidney injury, and hospitalization. Dr. Brown has developed strong local and national collaborations to advance patient safety using clinical informatics and implementation science.
His recent national implementation trial combined a team-based ‘learning collaborative’ with automated surveillance reporting, resulting in a 46% reduced risk of post-procedural acute kidney injury (AKI) when compared to other interventions. Dr. Brown is interested in disseminating novel implementation methods and findings to fields with unmet need in complex trial design, including, but not limited to engineering, management, and policy.
Iben Sullivan, Ph.D, MPH
Dr. Iben Sullivan (Ricket) is a Research Scientist and the Research & Grant Program Director for the Brown Lab. She is an interdisciplinary health services researcher, cross-trained in epidemiology, biostatistics, and health informatics. She holds a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Tulane University and received her doctoral training in Quantitative Biomedical Sciences from Dartmouth College. Her research focuses on developing or improving methodologies to support predictive analytics in clinical and population health. Prior to her doctoral training, she worked as a senior data scientist for a PCORnet CDRN and as a tobacco epidemiologist for the Louisiana Tobacco Control Program.

Beth Sullivan, MPH, CHES
Beth Sullivan is a Research Project Manager in the Brown Lab. She joined the team in August of 2022 after completing her Master of Public Health program at the University of New England and becoming a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). Prior to joining the research team, she spent 6 years working in the medical device industry in sales and customer service roles.
Kevin Cox
Kevin Cox is the Research Program Manager for the Brown Lab. He developed his excellent interpersonal and communication skills during his long career of working in non-profit organizations (Young Life), the public sector (The Metropolitan Transportation Authority of New York), and academic institutions (Hartland Elementary School). Kevin is the “heart and soul” of the Brown Lab, as he manages the day-to-day research activities of multiple studies, monitors progress and productivity, and facilitates the conditions for effective teamwork. When not working, Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren; and in his free time, he volunteers with the B2R Scholars Program helping Southern Sudanese scholarship recipients settle in and thrive at Dartmouth, Yale, and Cornell.
