The Communications Department of Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas seeks the following:

1) STORY INTERN: Writing stories based around a specific topic, event, or issue for the Supervisor’s website.  Ability to write stories quickly and reliably is a must.  Department is chaired by former LA Times Editor and includes former LA Times IT analyst and film, tv, and documentary producer.  For a student interested in writing, public policy, journalism, and media.

2) IT INTERN:  Development and implementation of special web-based project – depends on interest and experience, but may include coding (HTML, JavaScript, Flash, Perl, PHP, or mySQL), IT project analysis, data entry, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, WordPress, new media, and web development, and participation in special IT projects. Unpaid.   General intern tasks: Updating and expanding the media list. Preparing scrolls and updating content on the Supervisor’s blog and Facebook page. Attending community events with the Supervisor.
