Creating or Changing a Chosen Name
Students (only) may indicate or change a Chosen Name via the Student Profile in DartHub. Note: There is up to a 24-hour delay after a student indicates a Chosen Name, Identity or Pronoun for it to display in Dartmouth systems.
Requirements & Restrictions
Students may change their first, middle and/or last names. If they change them during a term which is underway, students are asked to inform their instructors and their major or minor department/program. As indicated by the risks outlined throughout this site, international students should check with the Office of Visa and Immigration Services on any implications of a Chosen Name.
Chosen Names must adhere to database character standards used by College systems. Names may not be used for purposes of fraud or misrepresentation. Dartmouth reserves the right to remove a Chosen Name if it contains inappropriate or offensive language.
