Welcome to Dartmouth Club Swim Team!
Whether you’ve been swimming all your life or would just like to dip your toes in the water, Club Swimming could be a great fit for you!
We practice four days a week for approximately an hour and a half, and we expect our members to attend at least three of these practices per week. (Of course, we will be flexible to your schedule, as we understand that there can be conflicts with practice times.) Workouts are written with different levels of ability in mind, and our coaches have the experience to adjust to swimmers’ individual situations and goals. For more information about practices, visit the Practices page.
In addition to practices, you can elect to represent Dartmouth at several club swim meets each term. We do expect our members to compete in at least one meet every term they are on the team. These meets are hosted at colleges around New England, including at our very own Karl Michael Pool. Again, no competition experience is required to participate in meets. For more information about meets, please head over to the Meets page.
Club Swimming is not just about swimming, though! We also have social events and apparel! In the past, social events have included dinner at Ramunto’s, walks to King Arthur Flour in Norwich, pasta dinners before meets, and movie nights. We have also held a Lou’s Challenge, a team volleyball game, and annually jump in Occum Pond together for the Polar Plunge. We also order apparel so we can represent the team around campus and at meets – past orders have included suits, shirts, and sweatpants. For more information, visit the Social Events & Apparel page.
If you are not convinced to join the Club Swim Team yet, know that you can also receive a P.E. credit for sufficient participation over the course of the term.
If you are interested in joining the Club Swim Team, visit the Prospective Swimmers page.
