The team is also responsible for ensuring that all research projects using DAC data have obtained the necessary IRB approval from Dartmouth's CPHSoffice. The team is responsible for tracking, documenting, and storing copies of all user's CITI training certificates in addition to IRB approval letters for every project using DAC data.
Types of IRB's
The DAC supports the submission of the below types of IRB requests:
All DAC users engaging with the DAC are required to maintain a current CITI Program Training Completion Certificate for Human Subjects Research (HSR): Social-Behavioral-Educational (SBE) Basic Course
*This course covers the core human subjects research topics for social-behavioral-educational researchers.
Please contact the DAC Compliance Coordinator if you are unsure which course to complete.
Project Specific IRB:
In addition to the above general training, all human subjects research activities undertaken by Dartmouth faculty, staff, or students' must be reviewed by the IRB committee at the CPHS Office at Dartmouth College.
Things to remember:
- Per CPHS, each individual study title needs its own separate CPHS study number and approval
- Per CMS, the DUA submission and the IRB titles must match exactly.
- If you are collaborating with an institution other than Dartmouth College on a DUA, a Project Specific IRB is required for both institutions.
Please follow these instruction when preparing the submission.
Compliance Training Certificate:
Step 1: Request access to the DAC's training site (Canvas) by emailing the DAC Compliance Coordinator.
Step 2: Accept the Canvas site invitation and complete all steps in the required DAC IRB Compliance Training Module.
Project Specific IRB:
Step 1: Submit an email request to the DAC Director for assistance in compiling the required information for submission.
Step 2: The DAC will submit the request through RAPPORT to Dartmouth's CPHS for approval.
Step 3: Once the project is approved by CPHS, a copy of the project IRB will need to be sent to the DAC Compliance Coordinator.
