When are auditions?
We will hold auditions utilizing virtual submissions every summer. You will be asked to submit a video including an introduction as well as short sidelines to learn (instruction videos are provided) and optional tricks/extra skills. Depending on team size, auditions may be held during the year in the beginning of football season and before basketball season.
What type of dance background is needed to make the team?
We have individuals on the team who were trained in all types of styles, such as ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, pom, and acrobatics. There is also a wide array of skillsets and levels of experience. We welcome everyone to try out, no matter your dance background. We perform in a variety of styles; auditions allow us to see what skills you have and how you would fit in the team!
What is the time commitment?
We have several hour long practices each week to prepare for games and go over sidelines as well as field/court formations. We will work with you so that practices accommodate your schedule. With appropriate notice, team members have been permitted to miss games without experiencing any consequences for future performances. We expect team members to make the fullest effort possible to make all practices, games, etc.
Do we travel?
We commit to perform at all home football and basketball games. We have traveled in the past to the Harvard football game when it was at Harvard University. When the Harvard game is home, we may consider traveling to a different local Ivy game. We are also looking into the possibility of competing in the New England area at a dance team competition.
