Bruce Stanton Receives CFF Unsung Hero Award

Congratulations to Bruce Stanton, PI, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Research Development Program, for receiving the Unsung Hero Award at the February 1 Cystic Fibrosis Foundation New England Chapter Annual Volunteer Award Reception in Manchester, New Hampshire. As Dean Madden (PI, Dartmouth Cystic Fibrosis Research Center) noted, “Bruce has spearheaded the growth of our CF research community at Dartmouth, both in sheer activity (from one grant in 1997 to >$9M/year in 2016), and in terms of the spirit of collegiality and excitement. Many of us found our intellectual home in this group. Perhaps less widely known, Bruce played a key advisory role in the development of Vertex modulators. He also connected Gerry O’Connor with the CF Foundation, sparking the creation of the Patient Registry, which has had an enormous impact on the length and quality of lives of CF patients. And those are just a few of many highlights.”
