Nine One One
Written by Daniel Cespedes
Tell me what a vote’s gonna do for me.
Trump is out, but is anybody free?
A world on pause, no check to show for it
Bezos gets the pieces, we get the bits.
Serf’s up, dude, I guess we’re all dirt poor now.
You have no rent, so save your what’s and why’s.
I’m not a priority, that’s clear now.
I’ll sit and wait for Uncle Sam’s demise.
Cheers in the streets, surely they’ll ask why.
How naive is the patriotic eye?
If it burns, it burns, whatever Drago said.
Don’t ask for sympathy or affection.
Cops surrounding outlets by the dozen;
Black bodies never got that protection.
Red, white, blue, that flag should always be half mast.
Nine, one, one, I’ve been caught up by my past.
