David L. Katz

David L. Katz, MD, JD, worked for over 25 years as Principal, Executive Director, and National/International Physician Director at The Advisory Board Company (now, merged with Optum/United Health Group). He managed business engagements with executives in the medical/healthcare/life sciences sectors throughout the U.S. and globally, covering a range of clinical and business initiatives including clinical services, accountable care services, post-acute care strategies, physician-hospital alignment strategies, patient engagement, business intelligence and data/analytics tools and platforms, consulting engagements nationally and internationally, and all company acquisitions. Earlier in his career, Dr. Katz served in the Public Health Service (National Health Service Corps), as a Lecturer and Assistant Clinical Professor at Harvard Medical School and as an Attorney at the Law Firm of Arnold & Porter specializing in food & drug law and healthcare matters.

Dr. Katz is widely published in peer-reviewed medical and legal journals and is the author of multiple book chapters on a range of medical-legal, clinical, and healthcare economic-business topics. Dr. Katz received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Duke University, completed his internship and residency at Harvard Medical School, and received his law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center. His father was Samuel L. Katz, Dartmouth ’48, MED ’50.
