Ford von Reyn, MD, has conducted national and international clinical trials of the Dartmouth TB vaccines (SRL172, DAR-901) in the US, Zambia, Finland and Tanzania. The Dartmouth TB vaccine is one of only 2 new vaccines in the world to have shown efficacy in preventing TB. He initiated the DarDar collaboration with MUHAS in Tanzania in 2001, served as PI of the NIH Fogarty training grant with Tanzania for 15 years, has conducted numerous clinical trials with MUHAS, and served as a consultant to the World Health Organization on new vaccines for the prevention of TB. He was the founding Chief of Infectious Disease and International Health at DH, and is the recipient of an honorary degree from Dartmouth College (2017, DSc) and MUHAS (Dec 3, 2022, DSc).
