2017 ISEC Competition Results

Congratulations to our 2017 ISEC Winners!

Sebastian Jeon, of Bergen County Academies in NJ, was awarded first place for his essay entitled “Feeding the World with Die Rolls.” Sei Chang, of Korea International School in Korea, received second place for the essay entitled “Socially Assistive Robots: An Emerging Technology for Treating Autism.” Coming in at Third Place is Prakruti Dholiya–from Bergen County Academies in NJ–who penned “Finally a Cure to the Ticking Time Bomb.” In addition, Afnan Nuruzzaman, also from Bergen County Academies, won runner-up (fourth place) place for the essay “Making Xenotransplantation a Viable Source for a Sustainable Organ Supply.”

The DUJS Editorial Board would like to thank all who participated in ISEC 2017. This year we received over 180 submissions from all over the globe, making our selection process extremely difficult. To all of our contestants, we wish you all the best as you continue your studies in science. We would also like to thank the Dartmouth College Office of Undergraduate Admissions for supporting ISEC 2017.
