East Wheelock Puzzle Hunt

Join us on Friday, January 22 at 5pm for the virtual East Wheelock puzzle hunt! Working in teams, participants will solve a series of exciting puzzles and riddles that have been professionally designed specifically for this event, and include references to East Wheelock and its residents. You can choose to either form your own team of friends or be assigned to a random team to meet new friends. There will be gift cards and other prizes for the teams who complete the puzzles.

RSVP encouraged for planning purposes: http://dartgo.org/rsvp

Among Us

There’s an Imposter among us! Team up with your fellow East Wheelock residents to find out who (twist: it might be you!). Among Us is an online social deduction game, similar to Mafia or Werewolf. No experience necessary — we’ll review the rules as a group before we start. This event will be hosted by Among-Us-novice and East-Wheelock-Resident-Fellow, Emma Templeton. Join her for this fully virtual event by logging into dartgo.org/brace at 8pm this Thursday!

Vote Together

If you excited about East Wheelock sweatshirts and other swag and are eligible to vote in the 2020 United States election, your vote in this election will now count as one of the two programs that you must attend to receive House swag!

In this unusual and unpredictable political climate, heading to the polls in small groups is encouraged.  If you would like to join other EW members as they vote in person on Election Day, sign up for a time to meet and head to the polls together at https://dartgo.org/EWVotes2020

Resident Fellow Office Hours

Chat with the East Wheelock Resident Fellows this Monday (11/12) at 7pm! Resident Fellows are graduate students who live in the East Wheelock dorms. As “near-peers” they are a great resource for talking about life after undergrad, applying to graduate programs, and whatever else might be on your mind! Check out their bios here. Join Amy Liang in the actual Brace Commons or join Henry Gould and Emma Templeton in the virtual East Wheelock (http://dartgo.org/gather). No agenda necessary! See you then!

Costume Party

Just because trick-or-treating was cancelled this year doesn’t mean we can’t get dressed up and have some casual Halloween fun.  Come to the Brace Patio at 4:30 PM on Saturday, October 31 in your costumes to see and be seen before heading to your other masked and socially distanced Halloween plans.  There will be music and candy. No sign-ups required!  Masks and social distancing required.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Dartmouth Cemetery Tours

Halloween is just around the corner… what better time of year for a walk through one of the most historic graveyards in the entire Upper Valley?  Join Ilana Grallert from Rauner Library for an informative stroll. We will meet at the entrance to the Dartmouth Cemetery behind the Class of 1953 Commons.  The walk will take place rain or shine, so come prepared. Be sure to wear sturdy footwear, since some segments of the walk are somewhat steep.

Ilana will cover the highlights of an area that, although it is right on the edge of campus, remains unexplored by many.  Come and discover gravestones, tombs and crypts from the 18th century that, although the inscriptions are largely obliterated, remain hauntingly beautiful. We will visit with students, now long dead, from Dartmouth’s earliest years, familiar figures from Upper Valley history, and even the victim of a notorious murder that captured the headlines for weeks in the 19th century.

Register now, as space is limited to 9 people. The tour will run about an hour. In the event of extreme weather, a rain date will be scheduled. We hope to see you there.
