With the pandemic causing a worldwide lockdown, we turned to technology to keep us entertained and informed when face-to-face communication wasn’t possible. For kids and teenagers, social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok saw a large increase of usage across the globe. While such platforms were useful for providing information about COVID-19, making us laugh, and encouraging us to participate in whatever new trend/dance was trending that week, I found the apps useful in helping me create a stylistic preference for myself. I was quickly engulfed into the online fashion culture during the pandemic, and found it incredibly addicting. I could spend hours watching different influencers recommend outfits, trends, and brands, try on the mounds of clothes they had ordered online that week, and create new and fun ways to express themselves through their style. Having viewed many different fashion accounts on both TikTok and Instagram, I wanted to share with you my favorite profiles where I look to get outfit inspirations and find new places to shop!

Shaina is an influencer based out of Melbourne, Australia. I started following her account around a year or so ago, and absolutely love her style. She embodies a “Y2K-esque” style, incorporating many of the trends that have blown up this year. Baby tees, matching sets, statement pieces – you can find her rocking these trends (and many more) on her page!

Nicole’s style is more on the edgy, earth-toned side as opposed to many of the other fashion influencers we see on social media today, who tend to rock the bright colors and funky patterns. I love the simplicity of her style, especially when I’m looking for inspiration. Her looks are fairly easy to mimic – which will be especially helpful for the upcoming fall and winter seasons. She also sells her gently used clothes on her platform! If you would describe your style as minimalist, her page is definitely worth the time!

Lauren Wolfe is mostly famous for her content on TikTok. She is the queen of Amazon fashion – her most popular videos are her Amazon try-on hauls, in which she takes trends and finds amazon dupes of what tends to be expensive or hard to find items of clothing. In her TikTok bio, she has linked her Amazon account with the articles of clothing you see in all of her videos. If you are an avid Amazon shopper, you need to check her out!

I absolutely adore Lexie’s style – it is so eclectic, yet everything she wears fits together perfectly. On TikTok, she is famous for her PR package unboxing, which allows for her viewers to discover new brands and styles from a variety of different companies, big and small. Her content also includes try-on hauls, opinions on different brands, and get ready with me videos. If you are looking to spice up your style with fun patterns, edgy styles, and bright, contrasting colors, you should definitely check out her profiles!

Natalia Spotts, commonly known as her instagram handle ‘pierogi princess’, is one of my favorite social media influencers that I follow. I have watched her platform grow over the years, and am so inspired by her career journey. She owns a vintage/thrift store in SoHo called ‘Funny Pretty Nice’, which has done exponentially well since its grand opening in the spring. I also love how her clothes are almost all reworked vintage/thrifted items, promoting sustainable fashion.
While these are just a few platforms, there are endless accounts online that give their own unique fashion opinions and advice for all different types of styles. If you are someone who enjoys fashion and wants to give their style a little bit of spice, look for inspiration! Sometimes, we need a little bit of help to find a style that is comfortable and perfect for us.
