childcareDartmouth does not currently offer any childcare options or benefits specifically for graduate students. While this is an initiative that the GSC is working on, below are resources and local childcare options that can be utilized to fit the needs of your family.


Dartmouth College Child Care Center (DCCC)

The purpose of Dartmouth College Child Care Center is focused on fulfilling the daytime needs of Dartmouth College families. Children are eligible if the parent/guardian is employed by Dartmouth College. There is an enrollment application, and enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.

There are 5 locations on campus that are designed for nursing mothers, there are:

  • 7 Lebanon Offices: 3rd floor
  • Parkhurst Hall: Basement, between 9B and 11
  • Thayer School: Cummings 101, visit reception desk
  • Tuck School: 2nd floor, women's lounge
  • Vail: 8th floor, visit facilities office on floor for key

Child Care Subsidy Program

There are state funds that can substantially help eligible families with the cost of child care. For both Vermont and New Hampshire, the parents must be working or attending school. Gross family income will be used to determine eligibility. For more information contact:


Children's Center of the Upper Valley

The Children’s Center of the Upper Valley is the longest serving non-profit child care organization in the Upper Valley region. They are a family-oriented child care center and include the entire family on many events. Children aged 6 weeks until kindergarten are welcome. Full-time and part-time care can be provided. There is an enrollment process that can be started at any time during the year provided that space is available.

The Kendal at Hanover Children's Center

The Children’s Center as a program of Kendal at Hanover that is founded on Kendal’s Quaker-based Values and Practices. The center provides quality care and educational programs to children aged 6 weeks to 6 years old. The Children’s Center is a registered provider with the New Hampshire and Vermont Child Care Subsidy program.

Childcare Center in Norwich

The Child Care Center in Norwich offers high quality early childhood and after school programs to families of all incomes and backgrounds. They welcome families with children ages 6 weeks to 12 years from communities throughout the Upper Valley.  Your child can be placed on a waitlist until a space opens up, at this point there is an enrollment process that will begin. CHaD Family Center Resources

The CHaD Family Center assists families to find information on parenting, illness and disabilities. They provide information on various support services that can be utilized by families, particularly families who have children with special needs or developmental delays.
