Karina is a post-doctoral fellow in the Guerinot lab where she is studying and developing Arabidopsis thaliana mutants involved in arsenic uptake. She received her PhD in Plant Molecular Biology from the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) in July of 2019 and her Masters in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) in July of 2013. Her research has been broadly focused on gene networks involved in abiotic stress response and metal homeostasis.
