On April 30, I participated in a workshop co-sponsored by the Chicago Project on Security and Terrorism (CPOST, University of Chicago) and the office of Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL), founder and co-chair of the Senate China Working Group. The purpose of the conference was to look “beyond the pivot” and explore the factors that in coming years will encourage crisis instability and growing tension in East Asia.
At the conference I presented work based on a co-authored working paper with Professor Daryl G. Press, Department of Government, Dartmouth College.
