This August I visited Taiwan on a chips “study tour” led by the Brookings Institution. We talked with industry specialists and held meetings with Taiwanese officials – including a visit with President Tsai Ing-wen – to discuss the Biden Administration export controls as well as broader issues in US-Taiwan relations.
