Sisterhood

Our Sisterhood

The entire Core works together to plan a variety of events for our sister. Some KDE favorites are WOK, or Women of KDE, where three sisters share their life stories; hikes up Gile Mountain; trips to Moosilauke Lodge; annual sex-positive talks hosted by leading social sexuality educator and comic storyteller Cindy Pierce; sisters’ pong tournaments; blueberry picking; sisters-only barbecues or brunches; and, of course, weekly sisters-only meetings where we sock-wrestle, give cookies to our sisters who may have achieved something incredible,  give each other shoutouts, watch our traditional Candi-Cheri comedy sketch, etc.

Sister Dates

One of the most important parts of being a sister of KDE is getting to know your sisters. To this end, we have weekly sister dates where you are matched with a random sister. Thiis allows you to get to know many more sisters!! We typicall share pictures of our sister dates on our private KDE-sisterhood instagram account, it is so much to see what everyone did on their dates! Here are some examples of what sisters do on their dates:

KDE also hosts a semiformal and a formal each term, but some of our more special events include our termly T@CK!3Z party, when campus floods the KDE basement decked out in flair; Woodstockde in the Spring; KDE’s infamous 4th of July party; and the Green Key concert we co-host in our backyard every spring.

The BWHBTT

As a local sorority and the only sorority on Frat Row, we make the most of our centrally-located, female-dominated space and our one-of-a-kind basement by regularly hosting events in our own house, which we fondly refer to as the Big White House Behind the Tree, or the BWHBTT.

We also bond in the house by repainting a portion of our basement with a design approved by the entire Sophmore Class.
