Previously, The Koop Institute focused on physician education. Under the new director, it will now make prevention science the priority.
The mission of the C. Everett Koop Institute is to advance health and well-being through disease prevention. The Institute seeks to enhance our understanding of the threats to health posed by consumer products–tobacco, alcohol, and highly processed foods–and to promote policies and interventions that protect the public health.
