Two alcohol industry groups have thrown their money and support behind coalitions lobbying to get autonomous vehicles on the road faster. While brewers and distillers argue that self driving cars would reduce drunk driving, in this hypothetical future, consumers are estimated to consume far more during a night out. As a result, one analyst predicts an increase in alcohol sales of as much as 250 billion dollars.
