In an article recently published on their website, the European Public Health Alliance (EPHA) has called out the European alcohol industry for failing consumers. The EPHA states that “the alcohol industry is avoiding the responsibility to inform consumers at the point of sale in an easy and accessible manner” thereby placing the burden of obtaining product health and nutrition information on the consumer. Mariann Skar, Secretary General of European Alcohol Policy Alliance said “It is not enough to tell us to go online and figure it out. Consumers demand transparency and brands they can trust. What do they have to hide? We do not have to go online to find information for milk or orange juice, why should we for wine?” Read the entire EPHA article here.
