Canvas is redesigning the Discussion tool. This new version will be available optionally in the Spring but will replace the old version in the Summer term.
Canvas has been busy building an updated and redesigned discussion tool. This new tool is available for preview now in your Canvas course. The new discussion tool provides users with flexible viewing options; a mobile-friendly and responsive design; @mentions for course members and anonymous discussions and new filtering and search options. In addition, Canvas redesigned this tool with accessibility in mind to create a better experience for all users. This video from Instructure goes over the new features in more detail. Use this guide for instructions on how to enable the new discussion tool in your course. We will be turning the redesigned tool on for all courses beginning in the Summer 2024 term.
