Submit a help request for assistance with: Canvas site creation, course copy, course combination, and educational technologies such as ED (Ed Discussion), Zoom LTI, Hypothes.is, Gradescope, VoiceThread, Poll Everywhere, Slack, Team Formation Tool, WordPress Journeys, UDOIT, Panopto, and Cidilabs.

24/7 Canvas Support Hotline

If you have an urgent Canvas question or issue outside of business hours, you can access the Dartmouth Canvas Support Hotline (staffed 24/7 by Canvas, available to faculty, students, and staff) by clicking Help in Canvas or calling (866) 706-7630.

Consultations

We offer one-on-one consultations on the topics below. If you can’t find your topic here, or you would like us to facilitate a group workshop for you, please contact ldi@dartmouth.edu to discuss next steps.

Course Design (60 mins)

Discuss general course design questions or brainstorm ideas you have with one of our learning designers. You can also book this consultation type if you aren’t sure what other consultation category your question fits into. Topics might include, but are not limited to: assignment creations/revision, assessment, learning objectives and outcomes, scaffolding of course work and feedback, student engagement. 

Teaching with Educational Technologies (60 mins)

Explore questions or ideas about pedagogical best-practices, strategies, and considerations for working with educational technologies such as Canvas, Ed Discussions, Hypothesis, Gradescope, and Team Formation Tool in your courses. This session is not a technical training, but will help you decide whether and how a tool might fit into your teaching.

Educational Technology Training (15 – 60 min)

Hands-on, how-to training or assistance getting started with one of our Educational Technologies (Canvas, etc.). For the fastest assistance, you can also submit a help request

Generative AI Teaching Policies (45 mins)

Discuss and brainstorm language for generative AI policies that make sense for your particular teaching context and syllabus.

Accessible Design (60 mins)

Hands-on discussion of digital accessibility and universal design for learning principles as they apply to your course documents (syllabi, assignments, handouts, rubrics, etc.) for your Canvas site. We ask that you submit your syllabus, course document, or Canvas course at least two days in advance of the consultation so that we can prepare individualized suggestions and resources.

Course Reserves 

The Dartmouth Library uses an online system to accept and and manage reserve requests. This Library Reserves system allows faculty to build lists of content for a class and for that content to be copied over in future terms. The Library Reserves system is found within your Canvas course by selecting Library Reserves/Guides from the left sidebar. For more information, please explore the Course Reserves Subject Guide.

Jones Media Center

Jones Media Center offers a variety of services including course media reservations, training and tutorials for faculty and students pursuing media projects, and consultations for faculty wishing to create multimodal course assignments.
