Our Network
The LGBTQIA+ Employee Network provides support and fosters community for all employees through social events, programming, and service opportunities centered on the LGBTQIA+ experience.
Our History
The LGBTQIA+ Employee Network predates the establishment of Employee Resource Networks program. It continues a tradition of community-building among Dartmouth staff and faculty that first gained official College recognition through the Coalition for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Concerns, founded in October 1992. The group worked on a wide variety of issues including: securing domestic partner benefits for Dartmouth employees; speaking out against the "Don't Ask; Don't Tell" military policy; and establishing advisers and counselors for LGBT students in the Dean's Office and Health Services.
Our Mission
The LGBTQIA+ ERN creates an affirming and supportive community centered on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual lives and experiences for all employees at Dartmouth. We celebrate individual identities, provide resources and advocacy, and build connections that foster belonging across campus and aim for all employees feel respected, valued, and empowered to thrive.
Through networking, mentorship, professional development, and social engagement, we work to amplify LGBTQIA+ voices, promote equity, and strengthen Dartmouth’s commitment to inclusion and belonging. Our ERN also partners with campus partners and local organizations to create opportunities for dialogue, community development, and exploration of the Upper Valley.
