Please join us to create a community quilt map of flood recovery! We are holding an event on Saturday, May 10th at Fletcher Memorial Library in Ludlow, VT from 11-2 pm. Together, we will discuss memories, perspectives, emotions, and goals around local flood recovery and future flooding. Participants will answer prompts about flooding and local communities, associate answers with fabric colors, and create personal patchworks that will eventually become a community quilt map.
All are welcome regardless of sewing ability or age. While these are free events, registering would be much appreciated, as we will be providing free lunch and childcare. Please RSVP at tinyurl.com/quiltmailinglist. If you are available and in the spur of the moment would like to just come without making a reservation, please do.
If you cannot attend the event, but are interested in sharing stories around flooding, please email charis.fm.boke@dartmouth.edu or aletha.e.spang@dartmouth.edu and let us know! We will have at-home activities and other ways you can participate. This event is organized by the Mapping for Resilience team with help from quilt artist Paula Frisch and Dartmouth College’s Hopkins Center Integration grant.
